It’s June again, and we all know what’s coming.
The whole NBA season will be concluded with the two of the most dominant teams in the league. The Golden State warriors, featuring the Hero turned into Villain, Kevin Durant.
The Cleveland Cavaliers with arguably the best player in the league today.
The two teams will square off for the most valuable honor that a player can achieve. Having the title of “NBA Champion” under his resume.
So, here we are to discuss on why the Golden State Warriors will win the 2017 NBA Finals against the Cavs. Here are some reasons to back up that claim.
Crazy Three Point Barrage
If you haven’t seen the Golden State Warriors play, you’re missing out on something good in your life, brother.
Their main arsenal is their ability to sink three pointers from practically anywhere in the court.
Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Kevin Durant, Andre Iguodala and Draymond Green can all shoot the tray with high accuracy.
Two trays = 3 Flashy Dunks and Layups.
All of these players can get hot at any given time. So if the Cavs want to win the championship, they should limit the three pointers of GSW.
Kevin Durant’s Hunger
As we all know, Kevin Durant’s decision to join the Golden State Warriors is a questionable one. Some will say that he’s a traitor and he’s only ring-hopping with the Warriors.
Some even say that this is the picture of the classic statement, “If you can’t beat them, join them”.
But one thing’s for sure, KD has the chance of his lifetime with these All Star supporting casts. He is just an inch away from winning his first NBA Championship ring.
Revenge Is Best Served Cold
After losing to the Cavs in 7 games in the 2016 NBA Finals, the Warriors signed Kevin Durant in the off season.
They have blew a 3-1 advantage against the Cavs, so you really know this team is having their revenge. Expect their best players to bring their A-game and watch the rain of three pointers.
Golden State Is Stronger Pound For Pound
For those who are arguing on who has the stronger lineup, I think Golden State has the slight edge against the Cavs.
The backcourt tandem of Steph Curry and Klay Thompson (so-called “The Splash Brothers”) is a little better than Irving and J.R Smith.
The bench of the Warriors is much deeper than the Cavs.
Their playmaking ability and assist-to-turnover ratio is better. The more three point shooters roaming, the harder it is for the defense to lock them down. That’s what makes Golden State so deadly. Because if Durant went to the hole and he was double teamed by the Cavs defense, he can easily feed Curry and Thompson for an easy trifecta.
